This case is based entirely on secondary sources: legal proceedings, legal review articles, news stories in the popular press, and AHS Hospital Corp. financial statements and IRS Form 990 documents.

There are numerous ways to assign the case and handle questions and discussions. The case is flexible enough to address all or some questions and may be used as the basis for class discussions, classroom debates, or written assignments. These approaches are effective in both face-to-face and online learning environments. In an online class, a discussion or debate can be held via an asynchronous discussion board or synchronous session. We typically recommend that the case be distributed before the case information session to allow students time to familiarize themselves with the content.
