This paper presents some personal reflections on the 30-year history of the Journal of Information Systems. I give some historical context that provides a basis for understanding how the Journal has evolved. I also identify some of the Journal's major achievements that are good reasons for celebration. Finally, I suggest some areas for development in terms of future research that might be published in the Journal.
