This document contains the solutions to the eight exercises presented in the Small Company Case, instructor notes, supplemental exercises, and solutions to other discussion questions. The purpose of this case is to introduce students to eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), the tagging system for financial statement data required for all financial data filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The teaching case is made up of eight exercises. The first five exercises are designed to step through eXtensible Markup Language (XML), the basis of XBRL, the XBRL taxonomy schema, and tagging.
