This case study allows management accounting students to use skills developed in the course. Students practice cost function development and breakeven analysis. Students work in teams to understand the budget and actual results of a small business. They then choose marketing options and integrate the selections into a budget. This is an opportunity to use cost estimation, variance analysis, cost/volume/profit analysis, and budgeting. It also provides practice using Excel in business report formats.
