The worksheet provided as a downloadable file (see Appendix A) contains a description and three years of financial statements for a fictitious consumer electronics manufacturer. The unaltered financial statements show consistent growth, profitability, and liquidity across the three years. Instructors can embed various accounting issues and operating problems in the current year financial statements by selecting the boxes provided in the worksheet. Students are instructed to perform preliminary analytical procedures and write a memorandum documenting potential operating problems and suspected accounting issues in ABC's 2013 financial statements.
